Last week, the Word360 team attended The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust’s Annual Members Meeting and Health Fair, at Russells Hall Hospital.
We aimed to promote both staff and patient awareness around Word360’s language and accessibility services and to discuss our partnership with The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust.
Patients were welcomed to learn more about what is happening within the trust, which gave them the opportunity to discuss our interpreting services with the team.
The opportunity allowed us to understand some of the accessibility issues faced by patients and to explain how Word360 have worked with the Trust to ensure all patients have the communication support they need when accessing services across the hospital.
Staff were able to learn about the new technologies and processes that will be introduced across the Trust in coming months to improve the patient experience.
By meeting with some of our British Sign Language interpreting users, we learnt a lot about their experiences with our interpreters and were pleased to hear their feedback. We were even invited to a meeting with the Trusts deaf community, to increase their awareness on the services that are available to them.
Overall the event served all parties very well, in promoting patient and staff awareness on our services and in enabling us to gain feedback directly from patients that have used or will use our services.
Improving the patient experience is integral to what we do. If you would like to learn more about our interpreting and accessibility services and how they can help your organisation, please speak to a member of our team who will be able to help.
